Jane is a generic Liquid Scintillation Counter (LSC) interface program for capturing data from a wide range of LSC instruments and outputting and archiving the data into different formats.

Most modern counters have their own internal or external PC with the manufacturer's own proprietary software for setting up each of the protocol counting details and control of the instrument. However, they lack the necessary features for GLP/FDA compliant environment. Jane's functionality includes full security, audit and electronic signature features, allowing data capture and transfer with full regulatory compliance.

Counters

Jane currently supports a range of Beckman, Packard and Wallac counters with more counters being added as and when required.

Data Export

Sample data can be exported to CSV, Tab, Space and Fixed format files, with user choice of which columns are included. Files can be marked as read only to prevent accidental or deliberate data loss.

Archiving

Raw data from the counters can be automatically archived, and is checked to ensure that archiving is without errors before continuing. If the network is down, then Jane will retry until archiving is successfully completed.

Reporting

Using templates, reports are completely configurable. These allow the user to select which sections of the report are printed, choose the columns (and order of columns) in tables and insert sample data anywhere in the final report document.

Security

Jane has a comprehensive and flexible security structure, which is used to control access to menu items. Given that Jane is used in a regulatory environment, it is important that Jane is able to guard against unauthorised access to data. Security levels can be assigned to users to ensure that only those individuals who have appropriate rights assigned to them can perform their necessary functions.

Debra ADME LIMS Link

Jane is able to integrate with Debra, enabling users to select the study and batch directly from Debra, ensuring data integrity and preventing errors.

Network Aware

Ability to automatically collect locally and transfer data to the network when available.

Multiple Instrument Support

Each workstation can be connected to a maximum of 4 individual Liquid Scintillation Counters.

 Other features include:

  • Data Capture, Manipulation and Reporting System for Liquid Scintillation Counters.
  • Support for a wide range of makes and models including Beckman, Packard and Wallac counters
  • RS-232 interface
  • GLP compliance including support for FDA 21 CFR Part 11
  • Customizable data export formats
  • Robust archiving of sample data
  • Debra LIMS link
