'New for old' liquid scintillation counter deal solves source disposal problem
16 September 2008
Until December 2008 LabLogic Systems is accepting any liquid scintillation counter in part exchange for the new Hidex 300 SL - and it will take responsibility for safe disposal of the old counter's internal radiation source into the bargain.
The 300 SL is the first commercially available LSC counter to use Triple to Double Coincidence Ratio (TDCR) technology for absolute activity measurement, which eliminates the need for an internal source when working with pure beta emitters.
It is also considerably more sensitive than conventional instruments; has lower 'background'; uses the latest instrument control and data acquisition software; and is exceptionally compact (50 cm wide x 60 cm deep x 65 cm high).
Weighing less than 100 kg (including the 60mm detector shield), the 300 SL is truly portable. It accommodates up to 96 x 7 ml or 40 x 20 ml vials in sample trays that are compatible with sample preparation instruments such as liquid handling stations or cell harvesters.
