Clear separation of closely spaced energy peaks is critical for accurate radionuclidic identity and purity. The spectra shown below demonstrate the performance of the Spec-RAM CZT gamma spectrometer across a selection of commonly used medical radioisotopes as well as novel isotopes being used to develop new therapeutics. A better alternative to traditional NaI

NaI is commonly used for nuclide ID analyses in radiopharmacies worldwide. Through use of semiconductor technology, the Spec-RAM CZT provides truly exceptional energy resolution in comparison and ultra-low background.

What allows the Spec-RAM CZT to achieve such resolution is its Cadmium Zinc Telluride detector, which offers excellent sensitivity to gamma emissions. For example, the detector delivers an energy resolution (FWHM) of <2.5% at the 662 keV gamma peak of 137Cs.

Novel alpha emitters

In the example below, the Spec-RAM CZT is able to differentiate the daughters 221Fr and 213Bi from the parent 225Ac.
