A compact HPGe gamma spectrometer for nuclear medicine

HPGe is the gold standard of gamma spectrometry due to its exceptional resolution. However, traditional HPGe gamma spectrometers are mostly large, overcomplicated, do not include GMP compliant software, and can be costly to run.

Introducing the Spec-RAM HPGe, a solution designed specifically for nuclear medicine applications and ideally suited for developing novel tracers and working with alpha-emitters.

High performance

Superior energy resolution

HPGe detectors are highly sensitive to gamma rays and provide an excellent energy resolution (FWHM) of <0.3% at 662 keV compared to traditional NaI-based detectors at 7.5% resolution.

Electric cryostat cooling

The Spec-RAM HPGe uses a proprietary electric cooler, offsetting the difficulties of using liquid nitrogen for cooling including running costs, training, and handling of hazardous material.

Energy and efficiency calibration

Laura Radiopharma includes all the necessary features for performing radionuclide identity and purity. Energy and efficiency calibrations are easily performed using reference standards.

Modular Lead Shield

Our specially designed shielding protects the detector from background environmental radiation and attenuates exposure to the operator. The lead shield includes a copper liner to improve performance and eliminate X-ray interference providing an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

Compact Footprint

With a footprint of ∅ 450 mm and a height of 650 mm, the Spec-RAM HPGe is a more compact system than conventional HPGe detectors.

Copper & Tin Liner

Eliminates Compton scattering, ensuring an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

Adaptable

A range of sample adaptors are available to accommodate different vials and tubes to provide consistent counting geometries.

Like all LabLogic instrumentation, the Spec-RAM HPGe is controlled by Laura Radiopharma, our industry-standard software for instrument control that is compliant with global regulations such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11. The introduction of compliant software to gamma spectrometry facilitates easier validation for sites while improving workflow efficiency.
