LabLogic Wins Award for Export Excellence
8 December 2005
ADME LIMS and radio chromatography specialist LabLogic Systems has won the Export Excellence category of the 2005 Business Awards in its home city of Sheffield, UK.
The company's success in growing its overseas business and promoting Sheffield as a centre for scientific software helped it to beat other finalists from the area's traditional steel industries.
Exports account for 70% of LabLogic's turnover. Its software and instruments are used by eighteen of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, and by others in agrochemicals, contract research, hospitals and universities.
Its main markets are in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, but it has recently gained a foothold in Japan and is currently investigating the potential of the pharmaceutical market in India.
On behalf of everyone at LabLogic, I am honoured to receive this award in recognition of our overseas sales, said Richard Brown, the company's managing director. This success has been achieved because of the hard work and dedication of our employees in providing quality products and unparalleled support for our customers in the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.
Commenting on the company's success, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce service development manager Vernon Tolson said: 'LabLogic is a great example of a Sheffield business working in a niche scientific IT area away from the traditional industries of South Yorkshire.
'It has established an international reputation over a number of years, and is to be congratulated on its commitment to the city and its part in driving the success of Sheffield business forward.
