Laura Radiopharma’s new quick start wizard makes radionuclidic ID and purity testing faster than ever

With the expansion of LabLogic’s Spec-RAM range of gamma spectrometers, a new quick start wizard for gamma spectrometry has been added to Laura Radiopharma. This updated User Interface allows all models of Spec-RAM to simultaneously test both radionuclidic identification and radionuclidic purity in just two clicks.

So how does it work?

Streamlining validated methods into a single on-screen tile

Previously, users needed to select their project, validate their method, and manually name the run. Laura’s new quick start wizard reduces this process into a single preconfigured method tile. In the example below, there are several tiles for gamma spectrometry already configured. The user simply needs to click which one they would like to use.

Once selected, key parameters can be reviewed, and preparation notes can be viewed on the screen as seen below. Instead of manually typing the measurement name, a configurable reference mask will be automatically generated. The user then simply clicks Start and the Spec-RAM will start measuring a sample’s half-life and acquiring a gamma spectrum.

By automating gamma spectrometry setup and execution after initial configuration, the wizard reduces human error, shortens training time, and simplifies validation.

Measuring half-life and acquiring gamma spectrum simultaneously

Laura Radiopharma allows the Spec-RAM to measure the half-life of a sample for nuclide ID with a decay curve plotted in real-time on screen. This is automatically compared to known half-lives allowing nuclides to be identified instantly. At the same time, a gamma spectrum is acquired to measure nuclide purity. At the end of the run, automatic peak identification and pass-fail criteria make analysis simple, allowing for further edits if needed, whilst the report is automatically generated and ready to be printed.

An ideal solution for gamma-emitting nuclides

The new quick start wizard is compatible with the entire range of Spec-RAMs. This is an ideal solution for facilities using gamma emitters with short half-lives such as 18F and 68Ga, where gamma spectrometry is used for release testing.
