Radiochromatography system installed at eleven PET production sites

15 December 2011

When IBA were looking for a new radiochromatography system to replace legacy software in all eleven of its FDG PET production facilities across America, they had a number of clear requirements.

The new system had to include true results measured in counts/dpm combined with half life correction, but most importantly it had to enable the company to be compliant with the FDA CFR Part 212 regulations which are due to be enforced by the end of 2012.

Additionally, IBA needed connectivity and control of a number of RHPLC with conductivity detectors and existing RTLC and GC systems.

LabLogic were able to meet this stringent set of requirements with its Laura for PET software, which is unique in being the only radiochromatography system specifically designed to control the range of detectors found in a PET QC laboratory. As a value-added reseller for Agilent, LabLogic were also able to source and supply GC systems for all the sites.

The whole project, including implementation and validation support, was successfully managed for an on-time delivery of both software and hardware.

Rick Tomkinson, IBA's QC manager of technical service in North America, said: 'From start to finish it was a pleasure working with the LabLogic team on the NaF LC installation.

'I greatly appreciated how their people ensured that Agilent were on site at each critical stage of the implementation and followed up with all of the individual IBA sites to check everything went well during the installations.

'Their organizational skills, together with the hard work of the LabLogic field engineers, made sure we had all we needed at the right time.'

Russell Sykes, VP of sales for LabLogic in North America, added: 'Companies are increasingly turning to LabLogic to provide a total end-to-end solution comprising of hardware, software and the validation expertise and installation engineers to co-ordinate the whole project.

'The IBA installation was one of our largest to date. The customer had strict deadlines covering eleven individual sites and we showed how we can add value and success to the project.'
